Capacity The great hall comfortably accommodates 80 standing, 60 seated. When rented in conjunction with the first floor gallery the House holds 125 people. Adding a tent expands our capacity.

Fees Basic rate: $200/4hrs for the Great Room between 11 am and 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays when the House is open to the public; $75 each additional hour. Overtime payment is due before the renter departs the site. Additional fees may apply depending upon specific use of the site. Other times, the $75 hourly rate applies. There is a $400 surcharge for weekend/evening rentals.

A refundable damage deposit of $200 is due 15 days prior to the event.

Payment for the full estimated duration of the event is due by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event.

Cancellation fee: $100 if less than one week's notice; $50 if more than one week's notice

Insurance and Permits The User is financially responsible for any damage or loss to the Old Stone House property, and for any personal injury to User or its invitees occurring as a result of or due to this event, except if arising out of the negligence or willful misconduct of Old Stone House or its employees or agents or out of an existing condition in the structure of Old Stone House. The full damage deposit will be refunded in full within 5 days of rental provided User leaves the premises in the condition found. $200 will be charged if event is other than agreed herein or if there are infractions of rental rules. This contract shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York with regard to the conflict of laws principles.

An amplification permit must be obtained from the local police precinct for all outdoor events featuring music. Amplification is permited until 8:00 PM only.


Staff An Old Stone House staff member will remain on site during all events.

Catering and Deliveries The Old Stone House has no restrictions on catering, however caterers must be approved by the Old Stone House staff. A certificate of insurance from the caterer must be on file with the House before the event. This certificate must list the Old Stone House and the City of New York as coinsured.

The renter will be responsible for arranging caterers, a clean-up crew, and any other contractors (such as servers and florists), and for renting tents, linen, tables, and chairs.

No barbecuing or other open fires are permitted.

Supplies and portable furniture for special events may only be delivered at a time pre-arranged with the Old Stone House prior to the event, and must be retrieved immediately following the event. The House is not liable for the delivered or stored property. A certificate of insurance from the rental company must be on file with the House before the event. This certificate must list the Old Stone House and the City of New York as coinsured.


Liquor Serving liquor is permitted. Alcohol may not be served to anyone under the age of 21.

Liquor may not be sold at a cash bar unless a cabaret license has been pre-arranged through the Old Stone House staff.


Decorations Decoration of the House is not allowed except under direct supervision of the staff. Decorations which may damage any part of the structure (including the use of nails, screws, staples, or tape on any floor, wall, window, window sill, door, or ceiling) are prohibited.

Flowers may be brought into the House. Free-standing floral arrangements are allowed, but placement may not conflict with any fire code regulations.

Fires in the fireplace, candles with an open flame, and any other open fires are not permitted.


Clean-up The renter will arrange to leave the House broom-clean after the event. All facilities must be left clean and orderly.

All refuse will be placed in heavy-gauge plastic bags and deposited in the refuse area near the curb behind the dog run in JJ Byrne Park.


Smoking Smoking is not permitted in the building.

Notice of Liability The renter is liable for all costs incurred by the House for repair of any and all damage to the structure or collection associated with the rental. The House has final judgment regarding if repairs will be necessary, and all repairs will be made by individuals chosen by the House. The House has the right to stop an event at any time for any reason deemed necessary.

All applications for special use are subject to availability. The House does not guarantee that its facilities are appropriate for the purposes for which they are permitted to be rented, and potential renters are advised to inspect the facilities for suitability before submitting an application.
